Ashok Kumar was brutally murdered inside his DTC bus in yet another shocking road rage case. The disease is spreading and to wish away it as a mere big metro phenomenon is running away from reality. Numbers would not tell you the real story for the violence quotient on roads is multiplying every second. Is there a way out? There are no easy solutions. Road safety has to be taken up as a national mission on the likes of Swacha Bharat. The way forward is a mix of punitive and preventive measures. Any violation, however, small has to result in denial of license as also cancellation of license of erring individuals. Meditation practice at school levels is preferred while education using victim case studies will also help. Time to kill the animal instinct and celebrate the life God has given us!
