This is the makeover season! Latest to join the makeover bandwagon is Tata Nano. Not the first time though that the company has resorted to breathe a new ‘life’ into the Nano. GenX Nano launch is said to be a “make or break” move for yet the world’s most affordable car. Branding it as GenX does not, however, change the fundamental DNA of Nano. A victim of its own hype, Nano promise never truly materialized. Why is it then that Tata Motors persists with a product that has failed to live up to its expectations? The company must see the loud writing on the wall? The dream of affordable mobility saw Ratan Tata develop world’s most affordable car and Nano was born amidst a billion expectations. But not all dreams come true. Move over Nano! Have a zest for life!
