The wise say cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties. This adage comes true time and again. This time it is not about the score card but men behind the scorecard. Someone who had been edged out due to poor performance has managed a comeback. Ironically, his comeback to international test cricket has come about courtesy his IPL performance. Test cricket and T-20 are like chalk and cheese! Nothing wrong with staging comebacks so long as they are performance driven. Call it a sheer coincidence or glorious uncertainty of the game that with a new captain at the helm an old player seen friendly with the old boss goes out. Most importantly outgoes a captain and incomes an old player who has been out of touch. Individuals do matter but institution is above all. Who is playing ‘God’ with cricket?
