Neerja: A Born Leader!

The post 90-born generation will soon get to witness the reel version of a real life hero. Thanks to Bollywood which is reincarnating Neerja Bhanot, millennial generation can see for themselves the heroic act of the Mumbai born air-hostess. Bhanot, who was born this day in 1963, was a senior flight attendant who saved 360 lives on Pan Am flight, when it was hijacked in Karachi in 1986. She became the youngest and the first woman to receive the prestigious Ashok Chakra award at the age of 23 years. Young India needs to log on to the Neerja story and adore her as the ultimate hero. Most importantly her story should help break the gender negativity. The best anniversary tribute to her would be to see more and more women not only join the workforce but aim for leadership roles.
