It is most difficult to wipe out either the Kandhaar set back or the Mumbai terror attack from our collective memory. But what our defence forces have achieved in Myanmar is without precedent. No casualty on our side reaffirms that our forces are second to none. Epitome of supreme sacrifice, the forces have time and again displayed their capability to deliver in most trying situations. But quite often in the past the professional might of our forces has been dwarfed by lack of political will to act decisively. Coupled with some deft diplomatic moves, the Myanmar hot pursuit to avenge killings of our soldiers has demonstrated the NDA govt resolve to shed the soft state image. Given the freedom to act professionally, the forces have shown they can take the fight to the enemy camp. No pussyfooting around from now on wards.
